EcoDuct Market Update 29 January 2026

Where EcoDuct is most beneficial on a project

Pre-insulated ductwork is not intended to replace every ductwork application — and it doesn’t need to.

Where it does add the most value is in specific building types and design scenarios, particularly where programme, coordination, finishes or environment play a significant role.

EcoDuct is suitable wherever insulated ductwork is required but, based on live projects, EcoDuct is most beneficial and cost effective in the following applications:

🏊 Leisure centres & swimming pool buildings

  • No corrosion in high humidity and aggressive environments

  • Reduced risk of condensation and long-term degradation

  • No secondary insulation or finishing trades required

  • Cleanable, durable external surfaces

🏢 Exposed services & architectural schemes

  • Consistent, factory-finished appearance

  • Colour and finish options aligned with design intent

  • Reduced site finishing and post-installation work

  • Cleaner coordination where services remain visible

⚙️ Plantrooms, risers & external areas

  • Robust external finishes suitable for plant and riser spaces

  • Weatherproof laminate for external applications

  • Reduced condensation risk compared to metal duct plus insulation

  • Improved long-term maintenance access

🏥 Healthcare, education & public buildings

  • Delivers optimal IAQ at lowest energy costs

  • Suitable for non-ferrous ductwork in medical applications

  • Programme certainty through single-trade installation

  • Reduced on-site congestion and follow-on trades

  • Consistent thermal performance and durability

♻️ Projects with sustainability or carbon targets

  • Lower embodied carbon and greater circularity compared to traditional metal ductwork plus secondary insulation

  • Energy savings where EcoDuct is incorporated into the ventilation system design

  • Simplified reporting where ductwork is considered as a complete system

  • Supports BREEAM, LEED, NABERS and client ESG objectives

In these applications, EcoDuct is typically considered not just as a ductwork system, but as a finished building element — reducing interfaces, simplifying coordination and improving predictability on site.

We regularly support project teams with early-stage advice, outline performance data and design guidance to help assess whether pre-insulated ductwork is appropriate for a specific application.

EcoDuct is supplied via an Approved Installer network and designed to integrate alongside conventional metal ductwork where appropriate.
